At Wistanstow Primary School we provide a seamless transition from our partner Nursery setting on the school site which takes children from the age of 2. The Joint curriculum Statement shows how children develop their skills in key areas from 2-6 years of age.
We have close links with the Nursery and ensure that by the time children move into reception they are familiar with the school and teachers.
Nursery children come for lunch in the school hall and either have a freshly cooked meal prepared in our own kitchen or bring their own packed lunch.
They attend school events such as Church Services, dress rehearsal of the school play
We share a Forest School site and Reception and Nursery children have a weekly session together
We often share play areas and special events, such as visitors to the school
Once they move into school children move into Class 1 where they have a play based curriculum with an increasing amount of adult directed time as the year progresses.
