The Edge Schools’ Federation

Our Vision

A school community where all pupils are valued, celebrated, safe and happy; where all are included and supported to achieve their potential in a caring Christian environment that inspires a continued love of learning and fittingly prepares them for their next steps in life.

The Parable of the Sower

Then he told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. Whoever has ears, let them hear.”  Matthew 13:3-9

Our Mission

The Edge Schools’ Federation takes its foundation philosophy from the Parable of the Sower which reflects the largely rural farming communities which the federation serves – providing fertile ground in which all members of the school community have the opportunity to flourish, and giving guidance, help and support for those who might at times be experiencing challenges in finding themselves in the best conditions in which to grow and develop.  At Wistanstow, we foster this ethos through our shared Christian values of generosity, courage, justice, truthfulness, service and trust within all.
